I've been having problems getting my network issues resolved since I've loaded Vista. I have the latest Intel pro/100 VE & Pro/wireless 3945ABG on my new HP laptop. These worked fine in XP but fail now. There are 2 ISATAP devices listed under these network cards in device manager. Both of them are broken complianing windows could not load the drivers for them. However, I cannot remove them either. My laptop can see my routers (USR 5461 & Zyxel 334WT) and can join workgroups to share & see files with other computers. But I cannot get to the internet. I did once or twice but cannot duplicate that anymore. I suspect the ISATAP devices. Please help ASAP

Problems with removing broken ISATAP devices
I just found my ISATAP adapter with a yellow exclamation point in my device manager and simply "right clicked" and chose "uninstall" and it was gone BUT I should NOT have done so. I later found a Support article Article ID : 932520 that indicates the "error flag" is a Windows bug" and that the ISATAP adapters are actually working under Vista. Don't know if this applies to your situation but hope so.

Wow, My post was almost exactly a year ago! Anyhow the KB article you've cited was last updated March 15, 2007, which was well after my troubles. Anyhow I'm glad you found the solution. I was one of early lost souls who gave up trying to fix their problem. I returned the laptop and cycled through some others while I abused Costco's 6 month return polices. My main critera was finding a high res screen and Vista. I ended up with a Dell D820 series and no driver issues. (Less Stereo Bluetooth, which I've fixed)

I did realize it was so far back for you but thought I'd pass it on both for yourself and anyone else who happens do to a search on Isatap as I did. I find the newsgroups to be an excellent source of info. I might have thought after a year this issue would be sorted but I guess with all the variables of different hardware and software it's almost impossible for Microsoft to solve every instance before they crop up.
Anyway Cheers! thomi
